UAEA major development has emerged in the murder case of Punjab-based social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabi, with the arrest of the prime accused Amritpal Singh Mehron in the United Arab Emirates, sources said.
According to information available so far, Amritpal Singh Mehron was detained by Sharjah Police in the UAE. The arrest reportedly took place during a sudden enforcement drive, following which his details surfaced during visa-related verification. Local authorities subsequently took him into custody for questioning.
Sources indicated that Mehron is currently being interrogated, and formal legal procedures are underway. Once the required legal process is completed, preparations are expected to begin for his deportation to India. Indian investigating agencies are closely monitoring the developments and remain in constant coordination regarding the case.
The murder of Kanchan Kumari had shocked Punjab. She was allegedly killed on June 9, 2025. Investigators have identified Amritpal Singh Mehron as the main conspirator, often described as the mastermind behind the crime. Several crucial revelations related to the case have already surfaced during the investigation, while law enforcement agencies had been searching for Mehron for a considerable period.
Officials said that after his deportation to India, Punjab Police is likely to formally arrest him at the airport and intensify the investigation through sustained interrogation to uncover further details linked to the killing.
