Chandigarh: In a significant development, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in collaboration with the Tarn Taran Police, successfully foiled a planned shooting attack and apprehended four individuals involved in a criminal conspiracy in the border region.

The operation, which took place in the Tarn Taran district, led to the seizure of two country-made pistols, each of .32 bore caliber, along with four live cartridges. These weapons were believed to have been intended for use in a targeted attack against specific individuals within the area.

According to preliminary investigations, the accused were allegedly operating under the orders of overseas-based criminals, Prabh Dasuwal and Doni Bal. Both figures are reportedly linked to organized crime activities, and their involvement indicates a growing network of cross-border criminal operations aiming to destabilize the region.

The four individuals arrested have been identified as repeat offenders with a history of criminal activity. The police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the City Police Station in Tarn Taran, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full scope of the conspiracy and its connections to larger criminal syndicates.

Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, expressed strong condemnation of the incident, reiterating the state’s commitment to dismantling gangster networks and ensuring public safety. “The successful execution of this operation underscores our resolve to confront and eliminate criminal organizations that threaten the peace and security of Punjab,” DGP Yadav stated.

The arrests serve as a reminder of the persistent challenges posed by organized crime, but also highlight the continued efforts of Punjab Police to protect its citizens and uphold law and order in the state.
