Srinagar: The Counter Intelligence unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police launched coordinated searches at several locations across the Kashmir Valley in the early hours of Tuesday, officials confirmed.
The operation, carried out before dawn, covered premises in seven districts and was linked to an ongoing investigation into activities connected with militancy-related networks. Authorities said the action is part of a broader effort to identify individuals suspected of supporting extremist causes, including the spread of radical ideology and the promotion of militant groups.
Police sources indicated that the searches are tied to a case involving alleged attempts to encourage recruitment into banned organisations and the public glorification of militants. The operation aims to gather evidence and disrupt support systems that help sustain such activities.
Officials maintained that the exercise is continuing in accordance with legal procedures, and further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
