Punjab CM Mann Warns Drug Smugglers: “No Pizza, Burgers, or Garlic Bread in Jail”

Dhuri (Sangrur) – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during a visit to his Dhuri constituency on Sunday, delivered a stern message to drug peddlers, asserting that political power would no longer protect them from legal action. His comments, though without a direct name, were widely interpreted as aimed at senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia.

“If anyone pushes Punjab’s youth towards drugs, they will face strict punishment. If there is proof, they will go straight to jail,” Mann declared. In a pointed remark, he added, “Prisoners will get the same food as everyone else – no pizza, burgers, or garlic bread. Those curious about the menu can visit Nabha jail.”

The Chief Minister also unveiled development projects worth ₹17.21 crore for Dhuri, including two new 18-foot-wide roads in village Dhadhogal. Paying homage to Shaheed Sardar Bhagat Singh Dhadgal on his 87th death anniversary, he announced that a road would be named in the martyr’s honor.

Mann further stated that Punjab will commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with a march from Srinagar to Chandni Chowk. He urged opposition leaders to “stop issuing certificates of patriotism.”
