Chandigarh: A 30-year-old woman was found brutally murdered inside the restroom at the Rose Garden on Saturday afternoon, sending shockwaves across the city. Her body, drenched in blood, was discovered with a knife lying nearby.

Police said the victim has been identified as Disha, a resident of Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Deep cuts were found on her neck, indicating that she was killed by slitting her throat.

DSP Dalvir confirmed the recovery of the knife from the spot and said that a detailed investigation is underway. “We have identified the woman. The murderer will be arrested soon. Evidence collection is in progress,” he said.

The police have sealed the bathroom and shifted the body to the Sector 16 mortuary for postmortem. A purse found near the body has also been taken into custody as part of the investigation.

The incident has raised serious concerns about safety in public spaces, especially during daytime hours. Further updates are awaited as the probe continues.
