Nationwide Disruption as IRCTC Website and App Crash, Ticketing Services Halted

New Delhi: Millions of railway passengers were left stranded online on Saturday after the IRCTC website and its Rail Connect mobile app suddenly went down, halting all digital ticket booking and enquiry services across the country.

A major technical failure caused the servers of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation to crash, interrupting online ticket purchases, PNR status checks, and reservation enquiries. Users attempting to access the platforms repeatedly encountered error messages, triggering widespread confusion among travellers preparing for immediate journeys.

IRCTC officials confirmed that their technical team has been working to identify and resolve the glitch. However, authorities have not given any estimated timeline for the restoration of full services.

As the outage continued, social media timelines were flooded with complaints, with passengers urging the Railways to restore digital services urgently.
