Zirakpur: Authorities in Zirakpur, located in Punjab’s Mohali district, have launched a major crackdown on alleged illegal activities at multiple spa centres after receiving a tip-off about prostitution being carried out on the premises. The operation unfolded on VIP Road, where several spas operate inside Devaji Plaza.

Police teams, accompanied by female officers, raided four establishments, including T3 Spa, T Shri Spa, Russian Spa and The Nature Spa. During the search, officers rescued 10 women and detained a male customer who was found inside one of the centres. The individual is currently being questioned to determine the extent of the network and any links to those running the establishments.

All four spa centres have been sealed, and the women rescued from the premises have been moved to the Women’s Safety and Counselling Centre for support and further assessment. Officers said the proprietors of the spas were not present at the time of the raid, and efforts are underway to trace them.

According to police officials, the action follows repeated complaints from local residents regarding suspicious activities at the spas. Investigators have now registered a case and are proceeding under the applicable sections of the law related to human trafficking and immoral practices.

Residents of the area have praised the police intervention, saying regular oversight of such establishments is essential to prevent illegal operations from taking root in the city. Police have indicated that more inspections of wellness and spa centres may follow as part of an ongoing campaign to curb illicit activities in the region.
