Addressing a press conference at Punjab Bhawan, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that the ‘Rangla Punjab Scheme’ was introduced in this year’s budget under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, under which Rs 5 crore was specifically earmarked for development works in each assembly constituency. He added that committees of MLAs and officials have been formed to ensure proper utilization of the funds. Based on the proposals submitted by these committees, the first installment of Rs 213 crore has been released to individual panchayats.

The Finance Minister emphasized that these committees are continuously recommending development projects under the “Rangla Punjab Scheme,” and the necessary funds will be provided accordingly. On this occasion, he also thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for launching the “Rangla Punjab Scheme.”

Emphasizing the extensive efforts being made for the all-round development of the state, in accordance with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that development funds worth ₹334 crore have recently been released to Panchayats, Zila Parishads, and Panchayat Samitis. He stated that the development of the state’s villages and cities is ongoing, and no village, town, or city will be left behind in this endeavor.

Furthermore, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that more than 3,000 stadiums are being constructed in Punjab to provide sports facilities to the youth, enabling them to reach the Olympics. He added that 19,000 kilometers of roads are being constructed to strengthen the state’s road network.
