Gurugram: Tesla India on Thursday announced the opening of its first Tesla Centre in Gurugram, signalling a significant push toward expanding electric mobility across the country. The new facility at Orchid Business Park will function as a one-stop hub, offering retail services, after-sales support, deliveries and charging infrastructure under one roof.
The launch coincides with the opening of bookings for the Model Y, priced from ₹59,89,000, with home-charging support included. Tesla said the Model Y continues to be among the world’s most purchased vehicles and has earned top global safety ratings. Deliveries for new orders are expected to be completed within the year.
Inaugurating the centre, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called the launch a proud moment for Gurugram and a milestone for the state’s development. He said Haryana has emerged as an attractive investment destination, contributing 3.6% to India’s GDP and posting strong export growth—from ₹70,000 crore earlier to ₹2,75,000 crore in 2025.
Saini highlighted the state’s growing mobility ecosystem, strong road and air connectivity, and the impact of projects such as the KMP global corridor. He noted that Haryana is now a major hub for mobile and automobile manufacturing, along with agri-vehicle and two-wheeler production. The CM also spoke about the presence of 12 lakh small industries, the formation of a dedicated MSME department, and the removal of outdated laws to reduce red tape.
He added that Haryana is preparing for future technologies by developing an AI hub in Gurugram and setting up a Department of Future to adopt deep-tech systems. A ₹2,000-crore fund has been proposed to support startups, while an integrated manufacturing zone is being developed in Hisar. Saini said he hopes Tesla will expand further in the state and consider establishing allied units in Haryana.
Sharad Agarwal, General Manager of Tesla India, said the company aims to help accelerate India’s shift to clean energy by creating an ecosystem that blends seamlessly into users’ daily lives. He said the Gurugram centre brings together experience zones, test drives with the Model Y, V4 Superchargers and after-sales support. Tesla plans rapid expansion of its charging network to make electric driving convenient across the country.
Designed to serve rising EV demand in northern India, the facility also features Optimus Gen 2, on display in Mumbai and Delhi as well. Tesla said showcasing its robotics progress highlights its advances in AI and automation.
The launch follows Tesla India’s entry into the market in July, after which the company opened experience centres in Mumbai and Delhi and set up charging sites in both cities. With the upcoming commissioning of One Horizon in Gurugram, Tesla will operate four charging stations equipped with 16 Superchargers and 10 Destination Chargers. The company said the V4 Supercharging system can add up to 275 km of range to the Model Y in just 15 minutes, offering a seamless “Plug In, Charge and Go” experience.
