Mumbai: As the country celebrated Raksha Bandhan, the occasion carried a heavy weight for the family of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. His sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, marked the day with a deeply heartfelt message, remembering her brother who passed away in June 2020.
Shweta shared a touching video compilation on Instagram, filled with cherished moments she had spent with Sushant over the years. The post was accompanied by an emotional note that reflected her enduring grief and love.
“Sometimes it feels like you never really left… that you’re still here, just beyond the veil, watching silently,” she wrote. “And then, in the next breath, the ache hits. Will I truly never see you again? Will your laughter remain only an echo? Your voice, a fading memory I cannot grasp?”
Opening up about the pain of Raksha Bandhan without him, Shweta described the loss as “so intimate, so raw, that words shrink in its presence.” She wrote of a grief that deepens with time, not out of bitterness, but from a growing understanding of life’s fleeting nature and the fragility of worldly bonds.
She concluded her message with a promise of reunion in another realm: “I know we will meet again, Bhai… beyond stories, beyond time, where souls recognise each other not through names, but through the silent language of love. Until then, I remain here, still tying a Rakhi on your wrist in my heart, still praying that wherever you are, you are wrapped in joy, in peace, in light. So long, until we meet again.”
Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death continues to be felt deeply by his loved ones and fans alike. For Shweta, Raksha Bandhan remains a bittersweet reminder of the bond she shared with her brother, one she believes transcends time and space.
