New Delhi— Multiple district court complexes in the national capital were evacuated on Tuesday morning after an emailed bomb threat triggered widespread panic. Security agencies launched extensive search operations, which later confirmed the threat was a hoax.
The email claimed explosives had been planted at Patiala House Court, Rohini Court, and Saket Court. Following the threat, security personnel immediately cleared the premises and began combing operations.
Advocate Tarun Rana, secretary of the New Delhi Bar Association, said the threat email was received early in the morning, prompting swift action. “A thorough search was conducted and the threat turned out to be a hoax,” he confirmed.
The alert comes amid heightened security in Delhi following the November 10 blast near the Red Fort. “We urge lawyers to cooperate with security teams deployed across court premises,” Rana added.
Earlier in the day, Patiala House Court received a bomb threat just before Red Fort blast case accused Jasir Bilal alias Danish was to be produced by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Bomb disposal and dog squads were immediately deployed, along with Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel stationed outside the court.
Security arrangements across the city have been intensified. The November 10 blast near Red Fort had claimed 15 lives and left several injured. The prime accused, Dr. Umar Un Nabi from Kashmir, was reportedly driving the vehicle carrying the explosives.
