SBI to Withdraw mCASH Facility from December 1, Customers Asked to Shift to Other Payment Options

New Delhi: The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that its mCASH service—used for sending money through a mobile number or email ID without prior beneficiary registration—will be discontinued from December 1, 2025. The feature will remain available only until November 30 on OnlineSBI and the YONO Lite app.

The bank informed customers that the move is part of an upgrade to its digital systems, as mCASH operates on an older platform. Once the service is withdrawn, users will no longer be able to send or claim funds using the mCASH link and passcode mechanism.

SBI has advised customers who currently depend on mCASH to adopt alternative digital transfer modes such as UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS, all of which provide faster and more secure transactions. The bank noted that these methods are now widely used and offer improved reliability compared to the legacy system being phased out.

With the deadline approaching, the bank has urged users to complete any pending transactions before the service becomes inactive on December 1.
