Chandigarh: The Punjabi music fraternity woke up to heartbreaking news on Saturday as acclaimed lyricist Nimma Loharka passed away at the age of 48. Family sources said the writer had been battling health issues for several days before he breathed his last.

Born in 1977 in Loharka village of Amritsar district, Loharka went on to become one of the most respected songwriters in the Punjabi industry. His funeral is expected to take place later today in his hometown, where fans and colleagues are likely to gather to pay their final respects.
