Sikh Woman Visiting Pakistan for Gurpurab Converts to Islam, Marries Local Man

Lahore— A Sikh woman from India who travelled to Pakistan as part of a Gurpurab Jatha has reportedly converted to Islam and married a Pakistani man she befriended during the visit.

The woman, identified as Sarabjit Kaur from Kapurthala, has taken the name Noor Hussain after embracing Islam. According to officials, she developed a friendship with a Pakistani man named Nasir Hussain and subsequently married him.

Pakistani police have launched searches to locate the couple. Pakistan Minister Ramesh Arora said authorities are treating the case seriously and added that she will be detained and sent back to India once found.
