New Delhi— In light of intensified security arrangements across the national capital, the Delhi Police have urged passengers to reach railway stations, metro stations, and airports well ahead of their scheduled departures to avoid inconvenience, officials said on Thursday.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Transport Range) Milind Dumbre said that the advisory, issued on Wednesday, aims to ensure smooth security checks and timely boarding as authorities ramp up safety measures around major transport hubs.
“Passengers are advised to arrive at railway stations at least one hour before the scheduled departure of their trains, metro stations at least 20 minutes before, and airports three hours prior to their flights,” Dumbre stated.
He added that enhanced deployment and extensive screening procedures have been implemented as part of precautionary measures. “Security teams are carrying out detailed checks of passengers, luggage, and vehicles entering these facilities. We request all travellers to cooperate with the police and security staff to ensure everyone’s safety,” the officer said.
Authorities emphasized that public cooperation is crucial for maintaining order and ensuring seamless travel during the ongoing heightened security phase.
