New Delhi— Indian opener Abhishek Sharma and spinner Varun Chakravarthy have maintained their dominance in the ICC Men’s T20 Player Rankings released on Wednesday. Abhishek continues to lead the batting chart with 925 rating points, staying ahead of England’s Phil Salt and India’s Tilak Verma. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav is the only other Indian in the top 10, placed eighth.
Among bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy remains firmly on top, followed by West Indies’ Akeal Hosein and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood made one of the biggest leaps this week, climbing two places to 10th after his strong performance against India.
In the all-rounders’ category, Hardik Pandya is the only Indian in the top 10, sitting at the fourth position. The rankings are led by Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, with Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and West Indies’ Roston Chase following closely.
Pakistan’s players showed significant improvement ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup. The team, which has won four of its five bilateral series this year, including a 2–1 victory against South Africa, saw several of its stars move up the charts. Babar Azam jumped nine places to joint 30th, Ayub climbed 10 spots to 39th, and Salman Agha rose 10 places to 54th among T20I batters.
Elsewhere, West Indies captain Shai Hope gained two spots to reach 12th, Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan surged 20 places to 17th, and Afghanistan duo Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran improved to 15th and 20th respectively.
