Chandigarh: In a significant political development in Punjab, senior-most Panthic leader Baldev Singh Mann is poised to rejoin the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal. Mann, who contested the Assembly elections as far back as 1971, holds the distinction of being one of the most experienced figures in the Panthic political space today.
Following the demise of SAD stalwarts Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Mann has emerged as the senior-most active Panthic figure. His return to the Akali Dal fold is being viewed as a symbolic move aimed at reinforcing the party’s traditional roots and Panthic identity.
Sources confirm that Sukhbir Singh Badal is scheduled to personally visit Baldev Mann’s residence in the coming days to formally welcome him back into the party. The re-induction ceremony is expected to serve as a morale boost for the party’s cadre amid ongoing political reshuffling in the state.
