Tianjin (China): The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) has issued a strong condemnation of the recent terrorist strike in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed several lives and left many injured on April 22, 2025.
In the Tianjin Declaration, adopted during the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting, member nations collectively expressed solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. Extending their condolences to the bereaved families and wishing a speedy recovery to those wounded, leaders reaffirmed their united stance against terrorism in all its forms.
The declaration emphasized that those responsible for planning, financing, or carrying out such attacks must be held accountable. It called for enhanced cooperation among member states to combat terrorism and ensure regional security.
This united stand comes at a time when the SCO is seeking to strengthen its role in addressing cross-border security challenges while balancing diplomatic relations among its diverse membership, which includes India, China, Russia, Pakistan, and Central Asian republics.
