New Delhi: The Department of Posts has announced a complete suspension of booking all categories of mail bound for the United States due to continued transport difficulties.

The decision follows a review of the earlier suspension notice issued on August 22. Authorities stated that in the absence of reliable carriers and defined regulatory mechanisms, it is not possible to dispatch letters, documents, and gift items valued up to USD 100 to the U.S. at present.

Officials assured that the department is making every effort to resume the services as soon as the situation stabilizes. Customers who have already booked mail items that remain undelivered can claim a refund of postage charges.

The postal department expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to its customers and said it is closely monitoring developments to restore the services at the earliest.
