Chandigarh: Soon after Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia was released from Nabha Jail and reached his Chandigarh residence, party president Sukhbir Singh Badal paid him a late-night visit, firmly dispelling speculation of any rift within the Akali leadership.
As Sukhbir Badal arrived at Majithia’s residence, the two leaders greeted each other warmly and shared an emotional embrace. The meeting came hours after leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party had claimed that Majithia had been politically isolated and that the Badal family had stayed away at the time of his release.
Sukhbir Badal’s visit effectively put an end to those claims, sending a strong message of unity within the Shiromani Akali Dal. According to sources, the two leaders held detailed discussions on the party’s future political strategy and the road ahead in Punjab’s evolving political landscape.
During the visit, Sukhbir Badal also met Majithia’s father and his children. Several senior Shiromani Akali Dal leaders were present at the residence, underlining the party’s show of solidarity following Majithia’s release.
The late-night meeting is being seen as a significant political signal, reaffirming Majithia’s standing within the party and the continued cohesion of the Akali leadership.
