Chandigarh: In a major relief for daily commuters across Punjab, contract employees of PRTC (Punjab Road Transport Corporation) and Punbus have called off their strike after receiving assurances from the management regarding the resolution of their pending demands.

The strike, which had disrupted bus services across several districts, left thousands of passengers facing inconvenience and limited public transport options. However, following discussions with officials, the workers decided to end the agitation after being promised that their concerns would be addressed at the earliest.

Union representatives stated that the decision to withdraw the strike was taken in good faith after positive talks with the authorities. The employees are expected to resume duties soon, restoring normal bus services across the state.

With the strike now withdrawn, government-run buses are likely to return to regular schedules, providing much-needed relief to office-goers, students, and daily travelers who rely heavily on public transport.
