Chandigarh – As floods continue to wreak havoc across Punjab, destroying villages and towns alike, solidarity and support are pouring in from across the country. Among the first to step forward, IPL franchise Punjab Kings has pledged nearly ₹34 lakh towards relief efforts.

Team co-owner Preity Zinta not only contributed personally but also announced that the franchise would mobilize more resources through a wider fundraising campaign. The donation will be directed to Hemkunt Foundation and RTI organizations, both of which are actively engaged in relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.

In addition, Punjab Kings has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Ketto platform, aiming to raise ₹2 crore by September 15. The funds will be handed over to Global Sikh Charity, which plans to reach every flood-affected village with aid and rehabilitation support.

Organizers said the money will be used to purchase rescue boats for evacuating stranded families and livestock, as well as to provide medical assistance, clean drinking water, and essential supplies. The initiative seeks to accelerate relief efforts at a time when thousands of families remain displaced and in urgent need of help.
