Chandigarh: A fresh political confrontation has erupted after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party for holding his government responsible for the recent blast outside the party’s office in Chandigarh.
Responding to the accusations, Mann accused the BJP of routinely shifting blame whenever incidents occur. He alleged that the party has a tendency to deflect responsibility by targeting others rather than addressing the issue directly.
In a sharp remark, the Chief Minister said the BJP often attributes problems to leaders from different eras, including Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, and B. R. Ambedkar. He further added that incidents in Chandigarh are being linked to him, while matters in Delhi are blamed on Arvind Kejriwal.
The remarks come in the backdrop of heightened tensions between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP following the explosion, which has triggered a political blame game over accountability and security.
The war of words between the two parties continues even as investigations into the incident remain underway, with both sides trading accusations over responsibility and governance.
