Ferozepur — In preparation for the Chhath Puja festival, the Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway has implemented special travel arrangements to ensure smooth passenger movement across major stations, including Amritsar, Jalandhar City, Ludhiana, and Dhandari Kalan.
To manage the festive rush, several festival special trains are being operated alongside regular services. Railway officials have deployed additional staff and officers at key stations, while Scouts and Guides volunteers are assisting passengers, especially senior citizens, women, and differently-abled travellers.
Between October 21 and 24, the division successfully ran 10 festival special trains, transporting 3,28,138 passengers to their destinations without major disruptions.e
Two additional special services are scheduled for October 25 — Train No. 05050 (Amritsar–Chhapra) departing at 5:45 PM, and Train No. 05733 (Amritsar–Kishanganj) leaving at 4:25 AM. Authorities have urged passengers to make use of these dedicated trains to avoid overcrowding.2
According to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), constant monitoring is being conducted through war rooms established at the Railway Board, zonal headquarters, and divisional offices to ensure safe and seamless operations throughout the festive period.
