New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday held discussions with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to assess the worsening flood scenario in the state, officials confirmed.

Both leaders briefed Shah on the extent of waterlogging and damage caused by the incessant rains, as well as the ongoing relief and rescue measures being carried out by the administration.

The Home Minister conveyed that the Centre stands firmly with Punjab during this crisis and assured that all necessary assistance—both in terms of resources and manpower—would be extended to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of the affected population.

Officials noted that coordination between state authorities and central agencies is being strengthened to speed up relief efforts in vulnerable areas.
