Pune – A Delhi-bound SpiceJet flight was forced to return to Pune airport on Monday morning after developing a technical glitch mid-air, prompting a full emergency landing.

Flight SG 937, operated by a Boeing 737 aircraft (VT-SLG), had taken off from Pune with a delay of 40 minutes at around 6:40 am and was scheduled to land in Delhi at 8:10 am. Midway, the cockpit crew noticed a warning related to the flap transit light and immediately carried out all required safety checks as per standard operating procedures, the airline said.

As a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to turn back. The flight landed safely under full emergency conditions nearly an hour after departure, and all passengers were deplaned without incident.

SpiceJet confirmed the development in a statement, adding that affected passengers were being accommodated on alternate flights or offered full refunds. Relief teams and airport officials were also kept on standby during the emergency landing.

The incident caused temporary concern among passengers, but the airline stressed that safety protocols were strictly followed. An investigation into the technical issue is underway.
