Chandigarh: Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Sunil Jakhar was hospitalised on Sunday morning after he complained of chest uneasiness and difficulty in breathing, party sources confirmed.
According to aides, Jakhar began feeling unwell in the early hours of the day, around 5 am. He was first taken to a medical facility in Panchkula for immediate attention and was later shifted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali for advanced evaluation and care.
Sources close to the leader said his condition is currently stable, though doctors are conducting a series of medical tests as a precaution. The hospital authorities have not yet issued an official medical bulletin detailing his diagnosis or treatment plan.
Jakhar’s sudden hospitalisation also led to a change in the BJP’s schedule for the day. He was expected to be part of a party delegation meeting the Punjab Governor, but was unable to attend due to his health condition.
Senior party leaders and supporters have expressed concern and wished him a speedy recovery, while further updates are awaited from the hospital.
