Darbhanga – Congress leader Rahul Gandhi faced protests from Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar’s Darbhanga. The workers waved black flags and confronted him over alleged derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother.

A video posted by ANI showed some BJYM workers attempting to climb onto Rahul’s vehicle. In response, the Leader of Opposition gestured for the protestors to come closer and was later seen offering them candies.

Rahul also addressed another rally in Arrah, where he launched a sharp attack on the BJP and the Election Commission of India. Accusing them of “vote chori,” he said the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) in Bihar was an “attack on the Constitution and democracy.” He vowed that the Congress party would not allow the BJP and EC to “steal even a single vote” in the state.

He alleged that the NDA government had engaged in “vote theft” in Maharashtra and elsewhere, while stressing that voting rights belong to Dalits, minorities, and women. “The Narendra Modi government steals votes to win polls,” he declared.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated in Patna after a video surfaced showing a man using a Hindi expletive against PM Modi during the Darbhanga event. The individual, identified as Mohammad Rizvi alias Raza, was later arrested from Singhwara in Darbhanga.

The controversy drew strong reactions, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi should apologise for abuses hurled at the prime minister and his late mother,” Shah said at an event in Guwahati.
