New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday issued a notification announcing the revocation of President’s Rule in Manipur with immediate effect. The proclamation was published in The Gazette of India (Extraordinary) and takes effect from February 4, 2026.

The notification, issued under clause (2) of Article 356 of the Constitution, states that President Droupadi Murmu has revoked the proclamation imposed on the state on February 13, 2025. The order formally ends central rule in Manipur, restoring the constitutional position as applicable after the withdrawal of President’s Rule.
The revocation was notified by the Union Home Ministry and signed by the President, with Home Secretary Govind Mohan endorsing the order. The development follows months of administrative control by the Centre amid the prevailing situation in the state.
