New Delhi — As the nation celebrates Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again spent the festival with the country’s brave soldiers, continuing his long-standing tradition of honouring India’s defenders on this special day.

On Monday, PM Modi visited the INS Vikrant stationed along the Goa and Karwar coasts, where he celebrated Diwali with the courageous personnel of the Indian Navy. Addressing the sailors, the Prime Minister said, “Today is a magnificent day, a memorable sight. On one side, I see the vastness of the sea, and on the other, the strength of India’s brave warriors.”

He added, “Here, I have the endless horizon and the boundless sky on one side, and the incredible power of INS Vikrant on the other. The sparkle of sunlight on the sea waves reminds me of the lamps lit by our brave soldiers.”

PM Modi expressed pride in celebrating the sacred festival of Diwali with the naval officers and praised their dedication and courage. He described the soldiers as the true strength of the nation, adding that the safety of every citizen depends on their loyalty and bravery.

This year’s Diwali celebration aboard INS Vikrant continues the Prime Minister’s annual tradition of spending the festive season with security forces deployed along India’s borders, reaffirming his deep respect for their service and sacrifice.
