Visakhapatnam: In a chilling case that has shocked the Gajuwaka area of Visakhapatnam, a Navy employee identified as Ravindra was arrested on Monday, March 30, 2026, for the alleged murder and dismemberment of his lover, Mounika. The Visakhapatnam police discovered the victim’s remains hidden inside the suspect’s residence in LV Nagar. According to the Circle Inspector of Gajuwaka, the accused allegedly cut the body into two parts, storing one half in a refrigerator and packing the other into a gunny bag to conceal the crime.
The investigation revealed that the incident occurred while Ravindra’s wife was away at her parental home. Ravindra had reportedly invited Mounika to his house on Sunday afternoon, where a heated argument broke out between them. The dispute escalated into a violent confrontation, leading to the brutal killing. Local authorities were alerted to the situation and moved swiftly to take Ravindra into custody. A formal case has been registered, and forensic teams have been deployed to the residence to collect evidence.
This grisly incident adds to a series of domestic-related homicides reported across the region in early 2026. In February, a 27-year-old AC mechanic named Sheikh Ahmed was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife in Mangalagiri following a dispute over the volume of their television set. Similarly, in Rangareddy district of Telangana, a man was recently accused of stabbing his ex-wife to death in an apartment after she remarried. The Gajuwaka police are currently conducting a detailed interrogation of Ravindra to establish the exact sequence of events leading to Mounika’s death.
