Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh): Four Army personnel were injured after an explosion occurred during a routine firing exercise at the reserved Badkala firing range on Saturday evening, police said on Sunday.
According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain, the incident took place while regular firing practice was underway at the range. An unexpected explosion occurred during the exercise, leaving four soldiers injured.
Police teams from Mirzapur and Behat immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured personnel to the Behat Primary Health Centre for initial treatment. Due to the severity of their injuries, two of the soldiers were later referred to the district hospital.
The injured soldiers have been identified as Suresh (45), Pavitra (35), Deepak (27), and Praveen (30). Officials said that Deepak and Suresh are currently undergoing treatment, while the condition of all four personnel is stable.
Army authorities have confirmed that the injured soldiers are safe and receiving appropriate medical care. An inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to ensure measures are put in place to avoid similar incidents in the future.
