Kolkata— The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Saturday carried out searches at the residence of former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee as part of its ongoing probe into the alleged State School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment scam.
Search operations were also conducted at premises linked to another आरोपी, Prasanna Kumar Roy, who is currently lodged in jail in connection with the case.
According to sources, Chatterjee had been issued summons three times by the investigating agency but failed to appear before the officer on each occasion.
The former minister was earlier arrested by the ED in July 2022 in connection with the primary teachers’ recruitment scam. He was granted conditional bail by the Supreme Court of India in March 2025.
The ED has registered multiple cases against Chatterjee related to alleged irregularities in the recruitment of primary teachers, SSC assistant teachers, and Group C and D staff.
Officials said the searches are part of efforts to gather further evidence and trace financial links in the alleged money laundering network tied to the recruitment scam.
