10 Army Personnel Killed as Military Vehicle Plunges into Gorge in J&K’s Doda

Jammu: At least 10 Indian Army personnel were killed and another 10 sustained injuries after a military vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Thursday.

The accident occurred in a hilly stretch of the district, officials said, adding that rescue operations were immediately launched to evacuate the injured and recover the bodies. The injured soldiers were shifted to nearby medical facilities, where some are reported to be in critical condition.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep grief over the tragedy. In a post on X, he said he was “deeply saddened at the loss of lives of 10 of our brave Indian Army soldiers in an unfortunate road accident in Doda.” He added that the nation would always remember their outstanding service and supreme sacrifice, and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Army authorities are assessing the circumstances that led to the accident, while local administration and emergency teams continue to assist in relief and support efforts.
