FATEHGARH SAHIB: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday morning paid obeisance at the historic Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, bowing in reverence to Mata Gujri Ji and the younger Sahibzadas, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, for their supreme sacrifices. He said the days of Shaheedi Sabha are observed across Punjab as Days of Mourning, recalling the unparalleled martyrdom of the Sahibzadas who were bricked alive by tyrant rulers, a sacrifice that continues to inspire humanity across the world.

Interacting with the media, the Chief Minister said the sacrifices of the Sahibzadas stand unmatched in human history and remain a powerful symbol against tyranny, oppression, and injustice. He noted that nearly 50 lakh devotees visit Fatehgarh Sahib during the Shaheedi Sabha to seek blessings and draw inspiration from this sacred land. CM Mann added that he prayed for Punjab’s prosperity, peace, harmony, and the strengthening of brotherhood and human values, while expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of the state.

Highlighting the arrangements for the Shaheedi Sabha, CM Mann said the Punjab government has made extensive provisions for healthcare, transport, cleanliness, and security to ensure a smooth experience for devotees arriving from across the globe. He also referred to the ongoing commemoration of the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and reiterated that the walled city of Amritsar, Talwandi Sabo, and Sri Anandpur Sahib have been granted holy-city status. Addressing the Veer Bal Diwas controversy, he said the supreme sacrifices of the Sahibzadas transcend any single day and criticised the Shiromani Akali Dal for what he termed a lack of sincerity toward Sikh heritage.
