Chandigarh: Punjab continues to emerge as a preferred destination for advanced manufacturing and innovation, with Amber Group of Industries announcing a ₹500 crore investment to set up a state-of-the-art Research & Development Centre in Rajpura. The upcoming R&D facility will focus on advanced HVAC design, validation and testing for domestic as well as global markets, and is expected to create around 1,000 high-quality, well-paid jobs in engineering and technical fields.

Welcoming the investment, Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power and NRI Affairs Sanjeev Arora said the decision reflects strong confidence in Punjab’s progressive industrial policies, skilled workforce and investor-friendly ecosystem. He added that the project will significantly strengthen Punjab’s position in advanced engineering, product design and innovation-led manufacturing, while supporting the state’s vision of becoming a hub for high-end research and global exports.

Jasbir Singh, CEO of Amber Enterprises India Ltd., said Punjab offers an ideal mix of skilled talent, robust industrial infrastructure and a responsive policy framework. He noted that the ₹500 crore R&D expansion in two phases underlines Amber Group’s long-term commitment to innovation-driven growth in India. Amber Group already operates manufacturing and R&D facilities in Rajpura and supplies components to several leading global brands, further reinforcing Punjab’s integration with global value chains.
