Chandigarh: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been ensuring welfare of the state’s residents with the social security schemes, said Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. here while participating in the discussion on the budget.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, fulfilling the promise made before the elections, has decided to give Rs 1000 per month to women of the state and Rs 1500 per month to women of the Scheduled Castes, which is a huge social revolution that will play an important role in giving equal rights to women.
A budget of Rs 9300 crore has been kept for this work, for which I thank Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema. He also congratulated Cabinet Minister Baljit Kaur for successfully running the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.
While our government has provided better health facilities to the people by launching a health revolution, it has also changed the condition and direction of government schools in Punjab with an education revolution. He said that our government is also preparing playgrounds to improve the youth. all the guarantees given by our government to the people of Punjab have been fulfilled.
Harbhajan Singh E. T. O. said that after assuming power, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann closed 21 toll plazas set up by the previous governments in the state, saving the more than Rs 67 lakh daily money of state’s people.Due to the transparent policy, our government has saved Rs 1464 crore from the tender process by the Public Works Department. Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has released Rs 5440 crore to the Public Works Department, with which 45000 km of roads in the state are being constructed.
