SHIMLA: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is leading the state government’s push to strengthen entrepreneurship and accelerate industrial growth in Himachal Pradesh. Through innovative policies and targeted initiatives, the government is empowering youth and building a strong startup ecosystem. The state has recently been recognized as a top performer in the Startup Ranking by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, highlighting its growing presence in India’s startup landscape.

In the 2026–27 budget, the government has introduced key measures to make Himachal Pradesh a preferred investment destination. A major highlight is the upcoming “Him Startup Scheme,” which will provide financial and non-financial support to startups and incubators. Additionally, the “One District Three Products” programme aims to promote district-specific industries, boost local production, and generate employment at the grassroots level.

To further support rural livelihoods and youth employment, the government is set to launch the “Him Silk Mission” with a budget of Rs. 2 crore, focusing on sericulture and empowering vulnerable sections. It also plans to provide industrial training to 10,000 youth with a monthly stipend, in collaboration with national agencies. Alongside this, the state is promoting green industries and encouraging investments in tourism and hospitality, aligning economic growth with sustainable development.
