Chandigarh— Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that true wealth lies at the feet of the Guru and in earning the ‘Naam’, adding that in today’s fast-paced life, peace can only be found in the Guru’s presence. He was addressing the closing ceremony of a religious congregation at Gurdwara Sri Nanaksar Sahib on Thursday. On the occasion, Baba Ghala Singh Ji, several saints and spiritual leaders, and devotees from across India and abroad were present. Extending greetings on Durga Ashtami and Ram Navami, the Chief Minister highlighted the spiritual legacy of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj and Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj, whose devotion and meditation have made the place a source of immense peace.

He also congratulated devotees on the Prakash Utsav of Baba Isher Singh Ji and urged everyone to follow the path of love, service, and remembrance while eliminating hatred. Paying tribute to Baba Narayan Singh Ji, he said his life exemplifies true service and obedience, recalling his years-long sevice of carrying water over 24 km daily on his Guru’s command. The Chief Minister noted that the grand complex of Nanaksar Sahib was built without a written blueprint, purely through divine guidance and faith. He also praised the unique langar tradition where devotees bring food from their homes, calling it a true symbol of equality and shared community spirit.

Highlighting government initiatives, Saini said the Haryana Government is promoting the teachings of Gurus through the ‘Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman Prachar Evam Prasar Yojana’ and has organized state-level events for saints like Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a major event at Jyotisar, Kurukshetra, releasing commemorative items. The CM also shared decisions such as providing jobs to 121 families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, establishing memorials, renaming institutions, and launching the ‘Swarn Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Yojana’ to support pilgrims. He reiterated that the state government remains committed to spreading the teachings and principles of the Gurus among the masses.
