Chandigarh Announces Winter Timings for Government and Aided Schools

Chandigarh: The District Education Office of Chandigarh has issued an official order detailing the winter school timings for all government and government-aided schools across the Union Territory. The revised schedule will be effective from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.

According to the order, schools operating on a single shift will run from 8:10 AM to 2:30 PM for staff and from 8:20 AM to 2:20 PM for students.

For double shift schools, the timings have been divided into morning and evening shifts for students and staff. The morning shift for students will be from 8:00 AM to 1:15 PM, while staff will work from 7:50 AM to 2:10 PM. The evening shift, covering classes 1st to 5th, will see students attending from 12:45 PM to 5:00 PM and staff from 10:50 AM to 5:10 PM.

The order was issued by H.P.S. Brar, IAS, Director of School Education, Chandigarh Administration, and aims to standardize the school day duration while considering the colder winter months.

Copies of the order have been forwarded to all relevant education officials and school heads to ensure smooth implementation across the region.
