Gaza City: At least 60 people, among them several children, lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes overnight in the Gaza Strip, hospital officials reported on Wednesday.

The strikes came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “powerful attacks” in response to what Israel described as Hamas violations of a fragile ceasefire.

In Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, Aqsa Hospital received at least 10 bodies, including three women and six children, following two separate airstrikes. Meanwhile, Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, reported 20 fatalities, including 13 children and two women, after five airstrikes targeted the region.

Al-Awda Hospital, located in central Gaza, said it received 30 bodies, of which 14 were children. Medical personnel are continuing to treat the injured and recover victims from the bombed areas.

The attacks mark a sharp escalation in violence in Gaza and have raised international concern over the safety of civilians, particularly children, in the conflict zone.
