Jalandhar Police Seize Six More Firearms Linked to Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang

Jalandhar: In a significant breakthrough against the illegal arms trade, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have recovered six additional .32-bore pistols from three individuals — Mankaran Singh Deol, Simranjit Singh, and Jaiveer Singh — bringing the total number of weapons seized in the ongoing operation to eight. The latest recovery follows the earlier seizure of two pistols connected to the same case.

According to police officials, preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused are closely associated with the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, a network known for its criminal activities across Punjab. The trio is suspected to have procured the arms consignment from Madhya Pradesh and played a key role in supplying weapons to other organised crime groups operating in the region.

An FIR has been registered at Police Station Rama Mandi, and further inquiry is underway to uncover the forward and backward linkages — identifying both the source of the weapons and their intended recipients.

A senior police officer said the recovery underscores the department’s focused drive to dismantle illegal weapon supply chains that feed criminal organisations. “This operation is part of our broader strategy to trace every link in the network and bring those responsible to justice,” the officer added.

Reaffirming its stance, the Punjab Police stated that it remains determined to eradicate organised crime, curb the circulation of illicit firearms, and safeguard public peace. Continuous efforts are being made to identify the suppliers, intermediaries, and end users involved in this arms network as part of an expanding investigation.

The latest seizure marks another decisive step in Punjab Police’s ongoing campaign to ensure the safety and security of citizens by tightening its grip on illegal arms operations across the state.
