Moradabad: Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old student, who was stabbed to death two days ago in a road rage incident in Katghar.

According to police sources, the confrontation began on Monday evening after a minor motorcycle collision escalated into a violent clash. The victim, Vinayak, a Class 12 student and nephew of local BJP leader Anurag Thakur, was allegedly attacked by a group of local youths.

The accused were identified as Vishal Kaushik alias Phuley, his brother Anank Kaushik, Anil Kaushik, and Sonu Rawat. Vinayak sustained serious injuries during the assault and later succumbed to his wounds.

Condemning the killing, Anurag Thakur said his nephew was “a good student” and demanded strict punishment for those involved. “The incident arose merely from a minor bike collision,” he said.

Katghar Circle Officer Varun Kumar confirmed the arrest of Vishal alias Phuley and Vinay, adding that raids are underway to nab the remaining suspects.

Following the teenager’s death, heavy police deployment was made in the Holi Maidan area to prevent any potential law and order disturbance.
