PM Modi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for Projects Worth Rs 13,430 Crore in Andhra Pradesh

Kurnool: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple development projects across Andhra Pradesh, with a combined investment of ₹13,430 crore. The initiatives span sectors including industry, power transmission, roads, railways, defence manufacturing, and petroleum and natural gas.

In the energy sector, PM Modi laid the foundation for the Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III Pooling Station, a ₹2,880 crore project featuring a 765 KV double-circuit Kurnool-III Pooling Station–Chilakaluripeta transmission line. The project will boost transmission capacity by 6,000 MVA and support large-scale renewable energy transfer to drive national growth.

He also laid foundation stones for the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool and Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa, jointly developed by NICDIT and APIIC with a total investment of ₹4,920 crore. These multi-sectoral industrial hubs, featuring plug-and-play infrastructure and walk-to-work facilities, are expected to attract ₹21,000 crore in investments and generate around one lakh jobs, strengthening industrial growth and global competitiveness in Rayalaseema.

In the road sector, Modi laid the foundation for a six-lane greenfield highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar at a cost of over ₹960 crore, aimed at easing congestion in Visakhapatnam and boosting trade and employment. He also inaugurated the four-laning of Pileru-Kalur section, widening works from Kadapa-Nellore border to CS Puram, the Rail Over Bridge (ROB) between Gudivada and Nujella on NH-165, the Kanigiri Bypass on NH-565, and improvements in N Gundlapalli Town on NH-544DD.

In railway development, PM Modi laid the foundation for the Kothavalasa-Vizianagaram Fourth Railway Line and the rail flyover between Pendurthi and Simhachalam North, and inaugurated the doubling of the Kottavalasa-Boddavara section and Shimiliguda-Gorapur section, totaling projects worth over ₹1,200 crore.

In the energy and petroleum sectors, he inaugurated GAIL India’s Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline spanning 124 km in Andhra Pradesh and 298 km in Odisha, built at a cost of ₹1,730 crore, and Indian Oil’s 60 TMTPA LPG bottling plant in Chittoor at ₹200 crore.

Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated the Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru, Krishna district, established by Bharat Electronics Limited with an investment of ₹360 crore.

The Prime Minister carried out these inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies after visiting the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam at Srisailam in Nandyal district, before returning to Kurnool.
