Tokyo: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini kicked off his official visit to Japan on Monday, with a clear focus on strengthening economic ties and promoting Haryana as a preferred destination for global investment ahead of the upcoming ‘Happening Haryana 2026’ summit.
During his visit, Saini extended a formal invitation to the Japanese government and industry leaders to partner in the high-profile investment summit scheduled for April 2026. His meetings in Tokyo highlighted Haryana’s growing importance in India’s industrial landscape and its potential for collaboration in future-ready sectors.
In a key diplomatic interaction, Saini met Takuma Miyaji, Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs. Their discussions centred on enhancing investment flows, boosting cultural and economic exchange, and exploring deeper ties between Haryana’s districts and Japanese prefectures.
He also held a meeting with Yuichiro Koga, Japan’s State Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry. Their conversation focused on Haryana’s strategic role as a manufacturing hub for Japanese companies operating in India. Investment opportunities in areas such as electric mobility, renewable energy, precision engineering, and advanced electronics were also explored.
In a parallel effort to promote Haryana’s identity, a cultural troupe from the state performed at the India Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, showcasing traditional music and folk dance to a global audience. The performance aimed to build cultural bridges and draw attention to Haryana’s unique heritage.
Upon arriving in Tokyo, CM Saini was received by India’s Charge d’Affaires Madhu Sudan, marking the start of a diplomatic engagement that aims to reinforce state-level cooperation with Japan.
The visit forms a key part of the build-up to ‘Happening Haryana 2026’, which aims to attract international investments and position the state as a forward-looking industrial powerhouse.
