Mohali: Popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda continues to battle for his life as he remains on ventilator support for the tenth consecutive day at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Despite round-the-clock medical care, doctors report no significant improvement in his condition.
Jawanda, who was admitted more than a week ago with a serious brain injury, has shown minimal response to treatment. According to sources, oxygen is not reaching his brain adequately, a situation that has left his recovery uncertain. A dedicated team of specialists is monitoring his vitals every hour.
Due to the lack of progress in his condition, the hospital has decided to stop issuing daily medical bulletins. A spokesperson stated, “There has been no change in Rajvir Jawanda’s health status. Given there are no new developments, we will not release further updates unless there is something significant to report.”
The family, friends, and fans of the singer remain hopeful, drawing strength from past cases of recovery in similar circumstances. One such case is that of former Punjab Police Inspector General Gurvinder Singh, who survived a severe brain injury in a 1990 road accident near Banur. After remaining on a ventilator for nearly six weeks and in a coma for two months, he eventually regained consciousness and began recovering, though he still requires ongoing treatment for neurological issues.
Gurvinder Singh’s journey gives some hope to Jawanda’s supporters, many of whom have taken to social media with messages of prayers and solidarity. Like Singh, Jawanda has suffered a major head trauma, but doctors caution that each case is unique and recovery timelines can vary greatly.
Since his hospitalization on September 27, the medical team had been releasing daily updates. However, by the ninth day, these bulletins reflected no change in his condition, prompting the hospital to pause public communications.
Rajvir Jawanda, known for his energetic stage presence and hit songs in the Punjabi music industry, has a large following. His sudden health crisis has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community, with fellow artists and fans continuing to rally for his recovery.
