Chandigarh: The Mohali court on Saturday extended the judicial custody of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia till October 18 in a case related to alleged disproportionate assets.

Majithia appeared before the court through video conferencing from Nabha jail, where he is currently lodged. The hearing was part of the ongoing investigation into charges that accuse the former minister of possessing assets exceeding his known sources of income.

The case, which has drawn considerable political attention, continues to remain under judicial scrutiny as the next date of hearing approaches.
