BENGALURU: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has been admitted to MS Ramaiah Hospital after experiencing a bout of fever and discomfort in his legs, party sources confirmed on Wednesday.

The 83-year-old veteran leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha was taken to the hospital on Tuesday evening. According to a senior Congress official familiar with the matter, Kharge’s condition is stable and not a cause for concern. “He was brought in after reporting fever and leg pain. He’s doing well and is under observation as a precautionary measure,” the leader said.

Medical professionals at the Bengaluru-based hospital are closely monitoring Kharge’s health and continuing treatment. While no official medical bulletin has been released yet, party members have reassured supporters that he is recovering steadily.

Kharge, a prominent figure in Indian politics for decades, continues to be a key pillar of the Congress party’s leadership. His hospitalization has prompted a wave of support and well-wishes from political allies and constituents across the country.
