SAS Nagar: Social media was flooded with shock and grief on Saturday evening after false rumors began circulating about the death of popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda, who is currently hospitalized following a serious road accident in Himachal Pradesh.

Authorities and fellow artists have strongly refuted these claims, confirming that Jawanda is alive but remains in critical condition at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, where he has been on ventilator support since his admission.

False News Sparks Panic Online

The misinformation spread rapidly, with several unverified pages and accounts claiming the singer had succumbed to his injuries. The rumors triggered confusion and distress among fans, leading to a surge in calls to the hospital and the singer’s management team.

“This is completely false. Rajvir is still with us, fighting hard. We request everyone not to share such baseless news,” a hospital source confirmed late Saturday.

Kanwar Grewal and Kulwinder Billa Respond

Reacting to the rumors, Punjabi singers Kanwar Grewal and Kulwinder Billa both took to social media to set the record straight.

“Rajvir is alive. Yes, his condition is serious, but spreading lies helps no one. Let’s stand united and pray for his recovery,” Kanwar Grewal posted.

Kulwinder Billa also addressed the situation, adding, “Some people are spreading fake news about Rajvir’s death. Please stop! He is under treatment and needs your prayers, not panic,

Jawanda Still Critical but Stable

Rajvir Jawanda was seriously injured in a road mishap near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, where he suffered severe head and spinal trauma, along with a cardiac arrest before being transferred to Mohali.

Doctors at Fortis have stated that while his condition remains critical, he is under constant medical supervision, and no official statement has been released declaring him deceased.

“We are doing everything possible,” a senior doctor said. “At this stage, every hour counts.”
