Kathmandu: Panic spread across parts of Nepal on Friday afternoon after tremors were felt once again, prompting residents to rush outdoors for safety.

The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre confirmed that the quake struck at 2:14 PM (IST), registering 4.0 on the Richter Scale. Its epicenter was pinpointed in the Bhatouli area of Ramechhap district, nearly 150 kilometers east of the capital Kathmandu.

No loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far, as the earthquake was of mild intensity. However, the incident reignited fears among locals in the Himalayan nation, which lies in one of the world’s most seismically active zones.

Notably, Ramechhap district had witnessed a similar 4.0 magnitude tremor just weeks earlier, on August 17, underscoring Nepal’s persistent vulnerability to earthquakes.
